2023 GMC Sierra AT4X AEV Edition
GMC has teamed up with American Expedition Vehicles (AEV) and is introducing the First Ever 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4X AEV Edition, blazing a new trail in off-road capability, luxury, and technological advancements.
The First Ever Sierra 1500 AT4X AEV Edition is engineered for those seeking the next frontier, delivering extreme off-road enhancements thanks to a comprehensive integration of AEV hardware designed specifically for off-roading and overland adventuring.
About AEV
American Expedition Vehicles (AEV) is a world-renowned premier supplier of quality aftermarket parts and accessories for vehicles geared toward recreational driving and overland adventure travels.
Founded in 1997, AEV was formed when founder and President Dave Harriton started modifying vehicles in a one-room garage with a dirt floor in Missoula, Montana. As time passed, Dave found partners in Detroit who could bring OE-quality engineering and manufacturing expertise to his innovative designs.
Today, AEV has built a brand with a stellar reputation in the off-roading and overlanding communities worldwide.
First-Ever AT4X AEV Edition
The First Ever Sierra 1500 AT4X AEV Edition is ready to take on some of the gnarliest terrains. This truck has an improved 32.5-degree front approach angle, a raised ground clearance to 11.2 inches, 23-degree departure and breakover angles, and AEV stamped steel powder-coated and e-coated front and rear bumpers. These bumpers are designed for serious off-road action, featuring heavy-duty cast recovery points and front winch capability while providing excellent durability and corrosion resistance. No other competitor in its class features a factory-installed winch-capable front bumper. Motor City has options for a winch installed before delivery too.
Take on the toughest terrains thanks to rugged underbody protection with hot-stamped Boron steel skid plates. These skid plates are more than 3.5 times stronger than equivalent cold-stamped, steel and help protect vital components under the truck such as the front approach, steering gear, transfer case, fuel tank and rear differential from ruts, rocks, stumps and the adversity of the trail. In addition, Rocker Protection with an optional bolt-on step assist is equipped to help protect the truck's rocker panels.
The Sierra 1500 AT4X AEV Edition also features new AEV race-inspired Salta Wheels. These unique wheels feature a unique 12-spoke design with AEV's signature recessed valve stems for added protection from rocks on the trail and a gloss black finish with laser engraved accents. These wheels are paired with larger 33" Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT Tires. A factory-provided full-size spare AEV wheel and tire are also included.

Motor City Military Families
Motor City Auto Center is a big supporter of our troops and the families employed with us who have loved ones in the military. We wanted to give some special recognition and thanks to the military families of Motor City to let them know we support and appreciate them. While there are many more military families than we included, three were able to give us an insight into how having a loved one deployed affects the entire family.
The Hansen's
Kris Hansen, Commercial Fleet/Sales Consultant, is the proud father of Jonathan Hansen, US Army 2011-2020 Captain, and Ryan Hansen, US Army ROTC and current student at UCSB.
"I am very proud that my sons have been willing and able to serve in the armed services. My oldest son Jonathan was able to see much of the world and has made the most of his opportunity by continuing his education at Stockdale High, Fresno State, and finishing his master's at Johns Hopkins.
My youngest son Ryan just started his military service by attending the ROTC Basic course at FT. Knox in KY. He is currently working on finishing his B.S. in finance at UCSB in Santa Barbara."
Kris loves the joy and connection of a FaceTime call with his kids when they're away. He tells us, "It was pretty amazing to Facetime my son while he was in Iraq!"
So how can we support our troops from home? Kris reminds us to "never forget the men and women fighting for the freedom that we can enjoy. It's sad when people take it for granted. Freedom is not and never will be free!"
Mercedes Thayer & Nick Kossler
Mercedes Thayer, Marketing Coordinator, recently said her good-byes to her wonderful son, Nick Kossler, as he is off to be an FN (Fireman) E3 stationed in Goose Creek, SC at the Naval Nuclear Power Training Command.
"I couldn't be prouder of Nick and his wife Madison, who is also in the Navy in the same 'nuke' school. Nick was in the Navy Sea Cadets for a few years, I always had a feeling he would choose to go into the military. Growing up Nick was always in advanced classes; I never had to check his homework or worry that he wasn't on track in school. So, I knew he was going to do big things."
When discussing the impact Nick's decision to join the military has had on the family, Mercedes said," I think a lot of parents worry about their children being away from home, but I'm the opposite. I am so glad Nick is able to travel and build a future for himself."
If you want to positively impact our troops when they come home, Mercedes reminded us to donate to The Wounded Heroes Fund right here in Kern County.
The Onsurez's
Albert Onsurez, Body Shop Technician, is the proud father of one active-duty Corporal in the Marines and two other sons who are Marine Veterans.
"Words can't express how proud I am to see 3 of my boys join a service that takes a lot of courage, selflessness, and sacrifice," Albert proudly tells us.
When we asked how being in a military family impacts their daily lives, Albert explained, "We tend to appreciate the small things in life. Things that many people may overlook. Having everyone home for dinner is a blessing."
We can support our troops as a community by supporting their loved ones at home. "If you have friends or family in the military regardless if they're close relatives or extended family… reach out and let them know you're here for them if they ever need anyone to talk to."
Motor City Cares
We would love to extend our gratitude and admiration for every active and retired person in the military and the families who support them. Whether you are enlisted yourself or you love someone who is, the sacrifices and dedication you go through on a daily basis are not without recognition and appreciation.

Bakersfield's Best Meal Prep Companies
Meal prepping can eliminate a lot of stress and save you time and money, but how do you know where to order from if you cannot do the prepping on your own?
Hello Fresh, Home Chef, Blue Apron…what do these Food Delivery Kits all have in common? They're not local!
Although any assistance in the kitchen is a major plus today, meal prep kit delivery services may not be as convenient as meal prep services that eliminate the need to cook at all. They don't exclusively offer gluten or allergen-free meal options, or meal plans for stricter diets like paleo or vegan. They also don't offer the personalization and customer service that a local small family-owned business can offer. Another big downside…if the meals have been frozen, the shelf life just doesn't impress, even with those added salts and preservatives.
Also, when supporting LOCAL, you are supporting your neighbors and your community!! You get your items faster and buy local, whether it's a chocolate chip cookie or a brand-new car, you are stimulating your local economy, which benefits everyone from local schools, charities, and even your local environment!!
So, when looking for a personal chef, without the "personal chef", look LOCAL!!

Fall Car Tips from Our Experts
Cool, wet weather after a long, hot summer can cause issues with your vehicle that you may have not considered. Our Lexus Certified Technicians want to share their top tips for fall car care.
- Be prepared for wet weather. Check your wiper blades and have your brakes, tires, and wheel alignment inspected. Most drivers understand that their brakes are essential but may not realize that wheel alignment is equally important. Having wheels that are out of alignment reduces traction which can be dangerous, especially in wet weather.
- Schedule overdue maintenance services that you may have been putting off during the summer season.
- Make sure all of your lights are in good working order as the days grow shorter. This may also be an excellent time to have your headlights polished if they are hazy from oxidation.
- Ensure your heater will continue working well by having your antifreeze checked and replaced as needed.
- Consider GM all-weather floor mats to keep your vehicle's interior looking great in muddy and/or snowy conditions.
